SETAC AU General Member Travel Scholarships

We are pleased to offer two General Member Travel Awards to attend the 2025 Wellington conference for Full SETAC general members (i.e. Professional Member status) who have an abstract accepted for presentation (poster or oral presentations). Awards will be up to AUD $3,500 (by way of reimbursement following the conference) to be used towards travel, accommodation and conference registration.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this award, applicants must be a “Full” SETAC member (i.e., “Free” or  “Explorer” SETAC members are ineligible to apply), registered as a member of SETAC Asia Pacific.

Application and deadline

To apply for the award, please download the application form here, complete and return to australasia@setac.org before the deadline of Friday 6^th June.

Applications will be assessed as follows

1. Preferences will be given to:
   1. Members from the SETAC Australasia Region (i.e., Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea and their territories). All other SETAC Asia Pacific members are still welcome to apply.
   2. Members travelling the greatest distance to Wellington, New Zealand. All other members are still welcome to apply.
   3. Members who do not have other funding sources available to support travel. All other members are still welcome to apply.
2. The strength of the justification for receiving a Travel Award (see application form).
3. Abstracts included in the application (see application form) will be assessed against the following criteria:

a.       The research/study is well justified.

b.       The abstract contains information on new, original research content or scientific concepts.

c.       The abstract contains sufficient technical data and description to explain the results and support the conclusions.

Successful applicants of the SETAC AU General Member Travel Awards 2025 will be notified before the conference Early Bird registration deadline (27^th June). Awardees will be required to submit receipts for conference costs up to AUD $3,500 following the conference to the SETAC AU Treasurer for reimbursement via electronic transfer to the awardee’s nominated account.
