This medal will be awarded in recognition for excellence in scientific work in Australasia that has involved substantial environmental toxicology and chemistry, or for service to environmental toxicology and chemistry in Australasia, over the past ten years.
Applicants must be within fifteen years of graduating from the University, adjusted to account for career interruptions. Nominations can be by individuals (self-nominations) or from colleagues. A nomination must be seconded by two SETAC members and include the names of two referees with knowledge of the candidates work. Referees may second the nomination. Candidates must be current Full members (i.e., "Free" or "Explorer" SETAC members ineligible) of SETAC with at least five years standing and be a resident in Australia, New Zealand or Papua New Guinea for at least one year when nominated. Previously successful applicants need not apply.

The SETAC-AU Council will appoint a sub-committee to consider the nominations and make recommendations. No award shall be made if the Standing Committee considers there is no candidate of sufficient merit.
The recipient will be presented with a trophy at the conference dinner at the 2025 Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry Australasia Conference and will receive $1000 towards travel expenses to attend that conference. Recipients will be requested to write a brief article for our newsletter (Endpoint) summarising their contributions to the field of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry.
Nominations should be submitted electronically to the Secretary of the SETAC-AU (australasia@setac.org), who will forward nominations to the Vice-President of SETAC-AU for distribution to the assessment panel.
