Environmental Contaminants Information Portal

About the Portal

The Portal was developed to facilitate exchange of information about environmental contaminants in Australasia. It also provides links to information on policies and strategies being implemented by governments and industry to minimise environmental contamination. Get in touch with us using the contact form in the menu ribbon above.

Organisation of Information

Information on the Portal is organised into four themes:

  • Environmental contaminants in Australasia
  • Monitoring programmes
  • Policies and strategies
  • Upcoming events

Management of the Portal

The Portal is managed by a steering group of three SETAC-AU members. The current members are Dr Anu Kumar (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, CSIRO), Dr Glen Walker (Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment, DAWE), and Dr Louis Tremblay (Cawthron Institute and University of Auckland, New Zealand). The steering group reports to the SETAC-AU Council annually and is responsible for approving new or updated content for publication.

Indigenous Knowledge and Values

The steering group recognises and respects the importance of indigenous knowledge and values in responding to the challenges posed by environmental contaminants.
