SETAC AU Indigenous Travel Grants

We are pleased to offer Indigenous Delegate Travel Awards to attend the 2025 Wellington conference. These awards of up to AUD $3,500 (by way of reimbursement following the conference) are available to assist with registration, travel and accommodation for Indigenous delegates at the SETAC AU Conference. The SETAC AU Indigenous Delegate Travel Award will be awarded on a case-by-case basis in accordance with the criteria set out below. The aim is to maximise participation from Indigenous representatives where possible. *Note, the applicant is not required to be a current SETAC AU member.

Application and deadline

To apply for the award, please download the application here, complete and return to australasia@setac.org before the deadline of Friday 6th June.

Applicants will be assessed as follows

  1. The applicant must be an author or co-author of an abstract or poster presentation that has been submitted to the SETAC AU Conference;
  2. The applicant must identify as an Indigenous person from any country in the SETAC Australasia Region (i.e., Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea and their territories) and, where applicable, have sufficient cultural connection to represent the specific Indigenous group(s) they aim to represent;
  3. Applications may be accepted from non-Indigenous co-presenters from organisations that specifically represent Indigenous people or groups.

Successful applicants of the SETAC AU Student Travel Awards 2025 will be notified before the conference Early Bird registration deadline (27th June). Awardees will be required to submit receipts for conference costs up to AUD $3,500 following the conference to the SETAC AU Treasurer for reimbursement via electronic transfer to the awardee’s nominated account.
